Harrogate is a town in Yorkshire,
UK, which has been famous as a spa town since 1571, when the
first medical spring was discovered. Harrogate reached its
peak as a spa town in the XIX century, in the Victorian age,
when the Turkish Baths were built.

Harrogate Turkish Baths were built in Moorish style, with
mosaics, arches and screens. The Baths were enlarged and completely
restored between 2002 and 2004; they belong to Harrogate City
Council and they offer modern spa facilities, with a touch
of history.
Harrogate Turkish Baths and Health Spa have the following
spa facilities:
- Steam room with aromas
- Plunge pool
- Three interconnecting hot room chambers called tepidarium
(warm), calidarium (hot) and laconium (the hottest). The
people using the facilities start in the tepidarium and
progress towards the hottest room. The cycle can be repeated
as many times as one wants.
- Frigidarium, a cooler room to relax
- Garden lounge
Harrogate Turkish Baths and Health Spa also offer several
beauty and alternative medicine treatments, such as reiki,
reflexology, hot stone massage, Indian head massage, Swedish
massage, facials, mud body wraps and more.
It is possible to buy packages including treatments and use
of the facilities. Harrogate Turkish Baths and Health Spa
is also available for out of hours corporate hospitality events.
